The paper reflects upon the possibilities and difficulties of using the full potential of play and its value as an engaging and enhancing tool for museums and visitors.

PLAY PROBES FOR CIVIC ACTIVISM

This report is the result of a Design for Play master thesis. Shaped as a research-through-design process, it exposes the development of Opinion-ate-it, a concept that relies on the use of Play Probes as a way to address the current social challenge of low civic engagement that affects democratic societies nowadays.

The mentioned probes were the essential element of Opinion-Ate-It, an experiment on how bringing play and politics to the table can contribute to create dialogues that lead to civic engagement.
