Hi!
I’m María: a curious, analytical and creative Play Designer with a background in Human Centered Design and Education. Making people play for meaningful purposes is at the core of my work. I design interventions, objects or experiences where play contributes to spark activism, foster creativity, break barriers, generate dialogues or bring people together.
In streets, events, formal institutions or at workspaces. As unrealistic or naïve as this may sound, play fuels behavior change, working culture, and innovation in organizations across industries, while reminding us that even the most difficult problems can be solved through play. I witnessed its impact in a diversity of projects when used as a result but also as a steady constant along the process to connect with users, identify needs, define opportunities and create human-centered solutions.
Applying this approach in collaboration with local and global companies and institutions from both the public and the private sector shaped a varied range of engaging, enjoyable and meaningful projects, including a mass ludic experience for the well-known Northside music festival; a board game on the coffee chain for Peter Larsen Kaffe; ludic interventions to transform the working culture at Billund Kommune; and a strategy for the future of delivery with Correos (Spanish national delivery company), among others.
If you want to know more about my work, you can check my CV or send me a message. I’m glad to hear from you!
